Choose Tools for Your Tesla Repair
Start with the procedure for your exact vehicle, then choose the equipment it requires. These categories help you compare listings; they are not a tested kit or a compatibility guarantee.
Hand Tools & Lifting Equipment
Buy for a planned job rather than collecting every item here. Match sockets, torque range and equipment fit to the vehicle procedure.
Mechanic Tool Set
Compare the socket sizes, fastener profiles and extensions specified for the job. A large piece count does not establish coverage; check the contents and available working space.
Torque Wrench
Choose a wrench whose documented working range includes the specified fastener torque, with the required drive size and units. Different jobs may need different ranges or an angle gauge; no single wrench covers every Tesla fastener.
Floor Jack
Check rated capacity, minimum height, lift height and saddle compatibility against the vehicle and lifting procedure. Search results include 3-ton examples; that rating alone does not establish suitability.
Jack Stands
Match the support equipment, rating and contact arrangement to an approved lifting procedure. Read whether the stated capacity applies to one stand or a pair. Never work beneath a vehicle supported only by a jack.
Lifting Pads & Adapters
Confirm the adapter fits both the specified vehicle lifting point and the equipment saddle. A product labelled “Tesla” is not proof of correct fit, and a pad does not make another contact point suitable for lifting.
Plastic Trim Tools
Compare tool shape and thickness with the trim access described in the procedure. Plastic tools can still damage clips or finishes; verify fastener locations and replacement-clip requirements first.
Brake & Suspension Tools
Brake Caliper Tools
Identify the exact caliper and required service tool before ordering. A “universal” kit or wind-back adapter does not establish compatibility with an electronic parking brake or the procedure for your vehicle.
Brake Parts Cleaner
Check the procedure and product label for approved surfaces, material compatibility, ventilation and protective equipment. Compare the required quantity rather than buying a bulk pack by default.
Breaker Bar
Match the drive size, socket rating and available clearance to the fastener. Check the tool manufacturer’s use limits; extra length is not permission to exceed them.
Brake Lubricant
Use only the lubricant type and application points specified for the exact brake assembly. Check compatibility with seals and other materials; a general “caliper grease” label does not make it suitable everywhere.
Electrical & Battery Tools
External Low-Voltage Power Supply
Identify the vehicle’s low-voltage system and the supply specified by its manual before buying a jump pack. A peak-current number or “12V” label alone does not establish compatibility across Tesla models and builds.
Digital Multimeter
For a documented low-voltage check, match the meter, leads, measurement range and safety rating to the task. A basic automotive meter listing does not qualify the equipment or operator for high-voltage battery work.
Terminal Cleaning Tools
Check the terminal design and permitted cleaning method for the installed battery. Do not assume a wire brush intended for lead-acid terminals suits lithium low-voltage connections or electronics.
Replacement Parts
Cabin Air Filters
Match dimensions, quantity and part compatibility to your model, build and climate-system configuration. Check filtration claims in the manufacturer’s documentation and follow your vehicle’s replacement interval.
Low-Voltage Replacement Battery
Confirm the installed battery chemistry, voltage, dimensions, terminals and required part revision. These searches contain 12V products; they are not a selection guide for every Tesla low-voltage system or approval for a chemistry conversion.
Brake Pads
Identify the axle, caliper and brake package, then verify part fitment and any required hardware. A listing that says Model 3/Y or “ceramic” does not establish compatibility or guarantee less noise.
Wiper Blades
Confirm blade lengths, attachment type and vehicle fitment. The searches use Model 3 as an example; adjust them for your exact car. Inspect wiping performance and follow the vehicle’s maintenance guidance.
Before You Order
- Identify the vehicle: confirm model, build date and relevant equipment. Use VIN-based parts information when available.
- Read the procedure: list required tools, ranges, adapters and replacement fasteners. Start from your vehicle’s owner documentation or the applicable Tesla service information.
- Check what you own: inspect condition and calibration requirements before paying for duplicates.
- Compare the whole purchase: include adapters, shipping and returns, and confirm the actual seller’s fitment information.
If the procedure needs specialist equipment or skills you do not have, compare professional service with the full cost of equipping for the job. Find the relevant topic in our repair guide library.
